Effective date: 20 July 2026 · Last updated: 5 September 2026This Privacy Policy explains how Asktro Tech Private Limited ("Asktro", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares and protects your information when you use the Asktro app and related services. By using Asktro you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect

| Device & usage | App activity, approximate diagnostics, and push notification tokens. |
| Permissions | Microphone and camera (only during voice/video calls or when you choose to share a photo). |
2. How we use your information
- To create and run your account and provide consultations.
- To generate astrology readings from your birth details.
- To process recharges, purchases, refunds and payouts.
- To enable chat and voice/video calls with astrologers.
- To keep the service safe — prevent fraud, abuse and policy violations, and moderate content.
- To send service and (with your consent) promotional notifications.
- To comply with legal, tax and regulatory obligations.
3. AI astrologer
Some astrologers are AI personas. When you consult one, your message and the relevant parts of your astrology profile are sent to our AI provider to generate a reply. AI content is for guidance and entertainment purposes only and is not a substitute for professional advice.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run Asktro, under contractual safeguards:

We may also disclose information where required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and property of our users or Asktro.
5. Data retention & deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account and data at any time — see our Account Deletion page. After deletion we remove your personal data, retaining only limited records the law requires (e.g. tax/financial records), in a form not linked to your profile.
6. Your rights
Subject to applicable law (including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act), you may request to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us below or use in-app controls.
7. Children
Asktro is intended for users 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a minor has used the app, contact us and we will remove the account.
8. Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit, access controls, and server-side rules that restrict who can read sensitive fields. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your information.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified in the app or here, with a new effective date.
